The Natural Mustang Ranch is located in the small town of Catawissa, Missouri. This 11 acre ranch with a 50' x 70' indoor lighted arena with sound system and viewing area, a 100' x 180' lighted outdoor arena, a 60' x 30' lighted outdoor training area, 5 indoor stalls and 4 outdoor stalls with runs. The Natural Mustang Ranch specializes in preserving the Heritage of the American Mustang. My main area of breeding and training will be with the buckskin or gruella colors. Mustangs are descendants from horses brought here by the Spanish in the sixteenth century. Eventually some escaped to roam freely and then bred with other horses who had also escaped captivity, or were set free by owners who no longer wanted them. Today's mustangs are actually descendants of many different breeds. The name "MUSTANG" comes from the Spanish word "mesteno" meaning "ownerless", belonging to "La mesta", meaning, "everyone and no one". What a poignant observation! After adopting my first mustang, Lashley, I was astonished at how rapidly her training progressed. She has excelled in everything I have asked of her. All of her beginning stages were with bareback and halter only! My goal is to breed her inherent traits and qualities.
